Greetings all,

This is my first post here, and for good reason. I am the president of the Student ran UNF Cycling Club. The club isn't limited to only bicycles, and has two main goals. 1. Unite all users Human-powered wheeled transport on the campus 2. Improve all these users situation on Campus.

Is there a bike lane map of Jacksonville so that I know which roads have bike lanes or at least which roads have sidewalks and are biker-friendly. I just moved here about a month ago. We only have one car and my husband uses it to go to work so the bike is my only option to get around during the day as well as running/walking. I haven't tried the public transit system yet, but I'm really against getting a 2nd car. Any advice for a link where I can find a biker's map of Jax?

Thanks,

Hope to ...

Anyone know what's the the stretch of beach blvd from hodges to san pablo? Almost all of beach (now) has side walks since they widened it to 3 lanes, and the new causeway has sidewalks too.
This stretch of beach remains 2 lanes and no sidewalks.

Are they out of funding? Was this ever on the plan with the widening of the rest of beach? Thanks,

I have been living car free since October 2008. Here are some benefits I see:

1. Reduced financial burden: Direct Expenses

There is a lot of money that saved in car payments, insurane, gas, maintenance, parking etc. Even if you have a car that is paid off, you still have insurance, gas, maintenance (maybe more than on a new car), parking etc. Estimated savings are between $300 to $700 a month (that is $3600 to $8400 yearly or giving yourself a raise).
